I knew when I met the bride, Amy, back in March of this year, and she started describing her classic, glitz and glam Chicago-themed wedding, that this was going to be fun. Not only was I excited to shoot downtown at the end of August, but that it was one of my first weddings booked through Cornerstone. I called Amy a week before her wedding and as we were discussing details, the 40% chance of rain that was supposed to happen on Saturday, did come up as a concern. But the rain couldn't have been any further away as the day, quickly turned into night, was nothing but perfect.
To add to the all-Chicago experience, both the ceremony and reception were held at the infamous Swissotel on Wacker Drive, right next to the river with a beautiful view of Navy Pier. Though Saturday afternoon traffic and a few tourists got in our way, bridal party photos were done in Pioneer Court by the Tribune Building and by the Adler Planetarium on Museum Campus. The "first look" was also held in Pioneer Court with the Wrigley Building as their backdrop.
An intimate group of close friends and family, filled the night with laughter and love in their suite overlooking the city. At 10pm, the bride and groom rushed downstairs for a few last photographs with the Navy Pier fireworks. Congrats Amy + Keith!
